Safety Supervisor - Atea (Kulim)





ATEA is a leading industry provider of turn-key environmental solutions particularly high temperature and exhaust systems and wastewater treatment systems. The firm provides project definition and preliminary design, detailed engineering and construction, plant commissioning and start-up, operations and project management.

ATEA is offering a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for a number of Safety officer/ supervisor for our Plant Supply Division to join their growing team. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this position will be based in Malaysia, however, domestic and international travel to meet project needs may be necessary.

Atea understands that candidates might not have some of the skills, experience, or knowledge required for certain tasks listed below, hence on-job and/or external training will be provided to enable safety Officer / supervisor to perform all tasks competently.



Safety Supervisor
(Kedah - Kulim)



Responsibilities:

• Provide safety supervision to field employees

• Ensure site safety compliance among all level of employees
• Review site condition prior to initiating Job hazard analysis
• Liaise with project personnel to request for task information
• Establish & sustain good working rapport with client personnel especially Project and EHS staffs
• Raise Site Incident Prevention Plan (SIPP) and seek for approval from relevant client personnel prior to commencement of a task
• Initiate and conduct Pre-task plan for site employees prior to task commencement
• Conduct Safe Behavior Observation, audits and inspections throughout the course for site activities and factory operations
• Collect, compile and submit safety statistics data as required by top management
• Facilitate mobilization of materials in and out of client premises by liaising with client security personnel
• Heed to the instructions of Safety Manager & Safety Coordinator
• Discharge duties in the best interest of the company
• Utilize and ensure adequacy of applicable safety checklist during execution of a task
• Perform duties with due diligence
• Assist in non-compliance inquiry, violation probe and accident investigations.
• Initiate and obtain approval from client representative for daily activities communication log


Requirements:


• Minimum Certificate/Diploma of any Engineering field.
• Completed CIDB Safety Supervisor Course or NIOSH Safety and Health Course Attendance Certificate or equivalent
• Certificate for confined space assessor, or scaffolding supervisor would be a plus
• Good communication and leadership skills and written reports
• Working experience in a construction or manufacturing environment will be advantage.
