ASSISTANT SHO

Responsibilities:

Responsible to assist SHO on the implementation of an effective Occupational Safety, Health & Environment Management Plan and well verse with Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Create awareness to all staff regarding environment, safety and health workplace.

Investigate any accident, near miss accident or dangerous occurrence in the place of work.

Chair Emergency Response Team (ERT), First Aid Team and promote environmental health and

safety awareness to all employees.

Control and take actions in the event of emergency e.g. fire, major chemical spillage, floods etc.

Conduct Job Safety Analysis on work process as and when required.

Act as Company's liaison with relevant authorities such as DOSH, DOE etc concerning safety, health and environment issues.

Constantly and regularly train and educate all staff on safety and health policies and conduct training/briefing for all staff and contractors on all aspects of safety & health on regular basis.

Monitoring and inspection of equipments, sites/workplaces and ensure suitable protective equipment is provided, used correctly and compliance with safety policies.

To identify potential risk and recommend practical and cost effective solutions in safety management.

Co-ordinate planning and execution of HSE audit programmes and advice on appropriate follow-up.
Represent the organization in various OSH-related external forums, seminars, meetings & etc when required.

Requirements:


At least a Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in any field. Certified Safety Officer certificate is essential.

Excellent written and command in English and Bahasa Malaysia

EDP knowledge is required.

Must have at least 2 years experience in safety, health & environment management field.

Dynamic, self motivated, initiative and able to communicate effectively with all levels.

Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status.

Applicants must have knowledge in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001.

Preferably Junior Executives specializing in Environmental/Health/Safety or equivalent.
